As expected, we apparently have an unrepentant police chief.
SHAH ALAM: The state police chief has questioned the rationale behind Internal Security Act (ISA) protesters singing the national anthem at their illegal gathering near the Amcorp Mall on Sunday.
He questions the rationale of singing the national anthem and he is concerned that a criminal might do the same in order to bid their escape.
“Are they expecting policemen to stand at attention each time they sing the anthem? If so, what would happen if every criminal that we confront starts singing the national anthem?” asked Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar.
He questioned whether the protesters sang NegaraKu to keep the police at bay or that they (the protesters) themselves did not respect the anthem.
Well, these protestors are no criminals. Why are they being equated to criminals? Have they commited any serious crimes? All they do is protesting against ISA and hold candles. Don’t tell me they are afraid of candles ok?
But their reaction is telling me that they are very afraid these protesters might turn into incredible hulk and torch the police vehicles with their candles. I have asked this question again and again. Why mat rempits are not subjected with the same treatment from the cops?
They have done every evil misdeeds I mentioned above and they definitely deserved any criminal treatment they can get. Aiyo please lah, you can’t even lie properly to save yourself from embarrasment lah. Please hire a professional PR to save your ass because this ordeal has been a PR disaster on your side.
