Former Universiti Malaya vice-chancellor Rafiah Salim has alleged gender bias by the government towards local academicians amidst the controversy of her not being re-appointed to the post.
The first woman to head a public university in the country, Rafiah’s contract was not renewed recently and she was informed on the decision merely 48 hours before the expiry of her term.
And they say university students cannot get involved in politics. They created different kinds of Act such as the University and University Colleges Act to stiffle their voices.
I guess it is okay for politicians to play with our higher education service as they pleased but it is not okay for students to get involved in politics.
While I think students should not spend too much time in politics, but these bunch of politicians should set a good example in practicing what they preached. No one is going to take you seriously when you discourage some one in doing something but you went on to do it anyway.
Just like how the ex porn star minister who used to encourage couples to be faithful to each other but he went on to screw his personal friends.
Truly, Malaysia rocks and it’s not a myth.
