The Education Ministry will carefully study the facts and information to be entered into history textbooks to instill patriotism among the young generation.
Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the step was among the ministry’s efforts to change the education curriculum at the primary school level by having history as a special subject by 2010.
Yes, you read it right. The education ministry will study the historical facts ‘carefully’ so they can enter more information in the text book to instill patriotism. I will welcome any new facts into the history book as long they do not try to distort the the facts to fiction or teach in you know, BTN style. It is really bad enough when they were really glorifying Hang Tuah every 24/7 until some discorvery about his true ‘heritage’ that made this legendary warrior slowly disappear from the text books. Rather than spending time adding more misleading information into the text book, they should revamp the teaching method instead because this subject has always been infamously regarded as the most boring subject to many students in school.
