It is about time for the victims of the police brutality to sue them in court.
A victim of police brutality during the Bandar Mahkota Cheras fracas last May has decided to sue the police force following a Suhakam finding today that the police had used excessive force on him.
Otherwise the cops who engaged in brutality will think they can get away with it because the previous victims do not enjoy full disclosure for the fear of getting prosecuted by the authorities for insulting the good name of the law enforcers. It is giving them the false perception that they too can get away from misconduct. If there are some quarters who suggested we need to have a cyber court to punish naughty bloggers, then there should a police court to punish misbehaved personnels too. The crimes committed by bad cops are far more severe because they abused their position as law enforcers and their job is to protect us, not to harrass its citizens.
