If Shah Alam City councillor Ang Leng Kiat has his way, all lottery sales will be banned in the Selangor capital.
His proposal has been accepted in principle by Mayor Mazalan Mohd Nor, who has called a special meeting of local councillors for further discussion.
I have seen many of my relatives alone spent thousands of ringgit to satisfy their obsession. But seeing the lack of law enforcement in our country, the bannage of the lottery might not work here. The illegal lottery fella is going to earn big from this and there is not much difference if we ban it but there is no enforcement. We can have trillion laws in our country but if none of them are properly enforced, then Members of the Parliament might as well not do anything.
